That Simon- he's a great "feller"!

Simon R has been flying the Harriers flag at a summer series of Dartmoor fell runs this year, organised by the South West Fell Runners and this week recounts his experience of the Postbridge Pootle.

A new route for the Dartmoor fell races, and my second event in the series this year.....and what a perfect evening for it, sunny and still, yet not too hot. The course took us up three tors...Lower White, Higher White and Longaford...but for a change, most of the climbs were runnable.

By just over half way, we'd hit the highest point, and a fantastic five kms of descent was our reward. Underfoot was mainly rough grassland, with a few better paths in places, and it was bone dry which again made for good running. I went a few seconds over the hour for the 10ish kms, which I was very happy with.

The opportunity for a river dip and a relaxing pint after with fellow runners (my son and son in law......), made for a perfect evening.

Next one is Thursday 11th August at Ivybridge.... watch this space!
